Zoom Informational Meetings

Zoom OAT Training-April 1, 2021-4:00p.m.-5:00 p.m.

Please join us on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 4:00 to 5:00 for a training by the Office of Alcohol Testing (OAT) on their new eDiscovery Portal.

As a result of the Ananias litigation, the Office of Alcohol Testing created their new eDiscovery Portal where attorneys can access OAT information online.  Please join us as OAT staff members explain the portal and instruct attorneys how to access the information on it.  This is a must training for defense counsel handling alcohol-related offenses.

Please reach out to Executive Director Virginia O’Riordan at admin@norfolkbarassn.org or call 617-471-9693 to register and receive the Zoom log in information.

Dear Bar Association Members,

Please join me on Thursday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m. for the next BANC Zoom training session on the statewide breath test litigation case of Commonwealth v. Ananias.

Attorney Joseph Bernard, lead counsel for the statewide breath test litigation case, Commonwealth v. Ananias, will speak with members about the case and the court ruling.  He will talk about the Alcotest 9510 breathalyzer machines, the dates in which they were used, the dates in which breath tests administered are excluded from use in criminal prosecution, and how you can help your clients challenge the previous disposition of their OUI case in cases in which the Alcotest 9510 breathalyzer machine was used.  Specifically, he will talk about motions to vacate and motions for new trial that stem from this issue.  At the close of the training, he will answer questions from the bar.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday, December 3rd at 4:00 p.m.  Please note that this training is expected to be 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
